Stix has been a friend of mine for years and I’m extremely proud to say that.
I first spoke to him on a late night phone call inviting me to bring my daughters to meet their heroes. I sent a random letter to LUFC asking if my daughters, Alanya and Sienna, could meet Adam Clayton and Luciano Becchio, their favourite players at the time, and I got a phone call late one night from Stix. “Hi Sam, it’s Stix from Leeds United, are you free to bring your daughters to the game on Saturday?” .
We met Stix, waited in the tunnel and my daughters met heroes, ALL OF THEM, the whole squad! A day they, and me, will remember that day forever.
Years later, after we beat Derby in the playoffs away, Myself and Sienna waited to hopefully get a picture with her then “love of her life” Kalvin Phillips. Whilst waiting at the railings I saw Stix and we got chatting and he remembered me and Sienna!!! Sienna told him about her love for Kalvin Phillips and we chatted about our love of the Island of Malta where his brilliant daughter Shauna got married.
Since that day we have kept in touch and every game I go to I meet up with this legend to ensure that Sienna and now my youngest daughter Mellieha’s “Grandad Leeds” is ok.
He is, he is Leeds, he is an integral part of OUR football club.
No matter what!
MOT Stix! We are Leeds x
