What can I say?
One morning I opened a handwritten envelope with utter shock and amazement.
A letter of thanks for ‘Loyalty & Dedication. to Leeds United Football Club… & signed by MARCELO BIELSA !
Immediately I suspected it was a complete fake set-up by friends.
It was not until I saw Stix’ personal card and note to email him confirmation of safe receipt that I figured it was actually genuine.
At that point and with all that Covid had thrown at us, I was completely and emotionally stopped in my tracks for about half an hour.
But who? Why? What for? Why me?
Apparently, it was some overheard off-the-cuff comment I made on TV about Elland Road that pricked Stix’ ears and then the main man checked out my LUFC credentials.
You would not believe how incredibly proud and chuffed I am to have received that letter.
Thank you, it meant so, so much.
